Oak tree planted as symbolic beginning of Olds Institute Community Legacy Fund

By Kristen Hubschmid

In Centennial Park on Sept 26th, members of the Olds Institute, along with our MLA Nathan Cooper, Mayor Judy Dahl and many more of Olds’ proud citizens, planted an oak tree to celebrate the creation of a new ‘piggy bank’ for our community. Every year, the Olds Institute Community Legacy Fund will bestow funding on community initiatives that meet the committee’s requirements. The idea behind the fund is to continually give support to those who help to make Olds an even better place to live. Applications can be found on the Olds Institute website.
