Paul Ryan from the Southern Alberta Energy to Waste Association (SAEWA) spoke to the Olds Town Council on June 9 2015. Ryan presented the problems, solutions and future direction of the group who are looking to address the issues of solid waste management in the region.

A coalition of municipalities and waste management jurisdictions in southern Alberta committed to the research and implementation of energy recovery from NON-RECYCLABLE WASTE MATERIALS to reduce long term reliance on landfills. SAEWA is in the planning stages to develop an ENERGY-FROM-WASTE FACILITY that will handle conversion of municipal and other sources of solid waste into Energy.
